Colorado is famous for beautiful mountain views and fall colors. When Dani and Ricky requested a mountain view engagement session, I had the perfect location in mind!
Timing a fall engagement session in Colorado can be tricky. It involves a lot of flexibility both for myself and the couple. The leaves peak at different times every year depending on the weather leading up to fall. The leaves also peak at various times in different regions throughout the state. The change of colors normally begins in the mountain, makes it way over to Denver, then heads south to Colorado Springs. There are so many variables at play during the fall months, but I am constantly location scouting and staying updated with the leaf news to make my couples happy!
This is one of my new secret spots in Colorado that I absolutely love for engagement sessions. This location is rather remote, but doesn’t require 4WD to access. All of the photos you’re about to see were actually taken just minutes away from the parking lot!
This area isn’t well known, so there aren’t many hikers on the trails. This is a huge benefit to couples because it allows the engagement session to be more private. If you or your fiancé is uncomfortable in front of the camera, having your photos taken in a more secluded location will make the session much more relaxed. It’s hard to have an audience while you’re taking photos if you’re already uncomfortable!
But regardless of the location (audience or not), it’s my job as the photographer to ensure that you feel comfortable in front of the camera! Not only am I composing flattering photographs and putting all of my manual camera settings knowledge to use, but I am also building a relationship with you as the client! I’m encouraging you and your fiancé, giving you encouragement and posing direction from behind the camera. My goal is always to make the engagement session a fun memory in the wedding planning process!
