This past holiday season, I wanted to do something that would give back to my new Colorado community. As a wedding photographer, I decided that the best gift I could provide would be the gift of engagement photos! Engagement photos are a timeless memories for couples as they prepare for their wedding and a lifetime together.
I gifted three amazing couples a complimentary engagement session, and Jenna and Matt were one of those amazing couples!
I just have to say, this might have been the coldest session I’ve ever photographed. And not only was it freezing, but we were also caught in 20+ mph winds during our time together! Can you tell from these photos how cold we were, because I sure can’t!
Throughout this winter season, I have met with many couples for their engagement sessions. The most popular question I received before these sessions was, “How are we going to stay warm?!” I always tell my couples that engagement sessions are not just for the photos, but for the memory. I help create an experience for them. I want the engagement session to be an event they can look back fondly when they think about the wedding planning process.
With that being said, an engagement session sure isn’t fun if we’re all freezing! During this session, I had Jenna and Matt wear their heaviest coats as we were walking from location to location. I also recommend that the girl bring a pair of warm shoes like Uggs to wear while walking to different locations. No girl wants to walk in the snow with heels! And when our coats no longer kept us warm, we all retreated to our cars for a few minutes with the heat turned on high. During this session, we took three breaks in the car to warm up!
Jenna and Matt, thank you for braving the cold with me as we took these beautiful photos!
