Marriage is saying "yes" to a lifetime with your best friend.
Weddings should be a celebration of your relationship's past, present, and future. As your photographer, it is my job to capture memories on the wedding day so you can be fully present and enjoy the company surrounding you.
With an eye for beautiful light and a desire for authenticity, I will help guide you through soft, dreamy photos that radiate of genuine emotion.
On your wedding day, I am both a director and a photo journalist. I will take charge and direct you to capture the most unforgettable portraits, but will also step into the background so your love can take center stage.
If you're dreaming of a wedding that's joyful, intentional, stylish, and fun, then chances are we're a match!
In searching for a wedding photographer, I wanted someone who was extremely detail-oriented, personable, and took photos that showed the emotion behind the moment. Cat checked every item off my list, plus blew us away with so much more. She's incredibly talented and knows how to take charge when needed. Wedding photographers do so much more than take pictures. Cat would make sure my hair was in place, my jewelry was situated just right, made sure I was taking deep breaths, had a glass of champagne within arms reach, and was present during the big day. My husband and I hired her for our engagement photos and wedding day. I also hired her separately for a boudoir shoot. Cat's style is polished, fun and flirty, soft, and timeless. The photos she gifted us with captured so much emotion and detail. You will never regret hiring her as she's one of a kind and THE MOST talented photographer I have ever met.
Choosing Cat as our wedding photographer was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding! She is very talented, organized, and is a pleasure to be around. Most importantly, the photos are absolutely beautiful!!! Cat captured our personalities, emotions, and joy on our wedding day so perfectly and we will cherish the photos forever. We had so many guests comment on how amazing she was and how much they love the photos. I really appreciated that she was direct when needed and took the initiative during the wedding to make sure everyone was in the right place and that we got all of the photos I wanted. Her communication was phenomenal all the way from booking through receiving the photos. We also did an engagement shoot with her before the wedding and we love those photos as well. I would recommend Cat to anyone for their wedding!
WOW!! I can't recommend Cat enough. Obviously one of the most important parts of choosing a photographer is the photos and her photos were absolutely stunning - clear, bright, full of joy and love, and really put us right back in the day feeling all the emotions. But she was also so easy and fun to work with heading up to the big day. And then during the wedding day, she was calm, right there when you wanted her to be but quiet and in the background sneaking around capturing everything. We couldn't be happier. She's amazing.
Cat is creative, passionate and truly cares about the moments she captures. I cannot recommend her enough. Our photos are absolutely stunning and will be memories we cherish forever. Not only are her photos beautiful, but she is extremely responsive and easy to work with, which took a lot of stress out of the wedding planning process. During the day of the wedding, Cat and her second shooter were extremely organized and made sure we captured all of the shots we requested and much, much more! Cat is incredibly talented and fun to work with and I highly recommend hiring her to capture your big day!

I have a question for you that is not listed here...
Of course! I would love if you share your favorite images from your portrait session on social media. I kindly ask that you include a shout out to your photographer in the caption (Photography by Cat Murphy Photography or @catmurphyphotography)
Can we share our images on Facebook/Instagram?
Your images will be uploaded to an online gallery, at the latest, six weeks from your wedding day. It all depends on my shooting and travel schedule and the time of year. I promise I’ll be as speedy as I can though! I will email you a link to your protected online viewing gallery to download the high-resolution files so that you can share them with your family and friends (and on social media) if you so wish.
When and how will we receive our images?
My editing style is minimalistic, with colors similar to that of film photography because my goal is always to capture natural beauty in the best light possible. My stance on Photoshop is that less is more and the photos that you’ll receive will have been hand edited by yours truly.
How will you edit our images?
Absolutely. These are some of the most important images we’ll take on your wedding day. A vital part of your family history! Two months before the wedding, I’ll send you a questionnaire for you to confirm the logistics of your day and provide me with a list of the posed family photos that you would like documented. I would strongly suggest no more than around fifteen groupings in total to ensure that they are quick, easy and enjoyable for everyone involved!
Will you take posed family portraits?
It’s totally up to you and a very personal decision! The two main benefits are having some quiet time alone together just the two of you before everything begins and getting most of your couple, wedding party, and family photos done before the ceremony (which equals a more relaxed photography schedule later on in the day). Oh, and you get to enjoy the cocktail hour! Hooray!
Should we do a first look?
Of course. Don’t fret - I’m a talker and have lots to say and plenty of ideas. I take an active approach to subtly directing you into the most natural and flattering poses. I like to keep everything as organic and as natural as possible. I’ll make it painless and fun! It won’t be nearly as bad as you think, I promise!
We’re bad in front of the camera! Will you help direct us?
I love shooting at new venues. Seeing a location with fresh eyes is always valuable! I travel frequently for weddings so even if I have not been to your venue before, I feel confident that I would do an excellent job capturing it. If you are having a destination wedding, I will arrive early on the day of (if possible, perhaps even the day before) to scout it to make sure I know where the best spots to photograph are.
What if you haven't shot at our venue before?
Most packages include a second photographer on your wedding day. I’ve learned over the years that the more cameras, the more photos I’m able to deliver to you. Two photographers = two different vantage points = double the usual coverage I can provide alone. Sounds good to me!
Should we have a second photographer?
